OUR ORIGINS
Born from a love of golf that sits outside the usual mould, the NZ Golf Film Festival taps into the game’s subcultures and countercultures - celebrating its strange, soulful edges.
A handpicked lineup of off-the-beaten-track films reshapes how golf looks and feels - less polos and polite applause, more grit, creativity, and stories you won’t see coming.
For our inaugural run, we’re taking the festival to a select group of stops across New Zealand, focusing first on places with keen, golf-hungry Kiwis.
Landing in boutique cinemas October and November 2026 - with more to follow as the schedule unfolds.
THE EVENT
The NZ Golf Film Festival is golf on the big screen - clean cuts, dark rooms, a proper cinema feel across boutique venues and community spots. Dirty grooves and a leading edge included.
This is where golf’s counter crowd comes together - pull on your best threads and settle in for a curated run of arthouse-style golf films. Not YouTube blow-by-blow - real storytelling from some of the game’s sharpest creatives and filmmakers, here and abroad.
A full night out - mingle, then settle in for a curated run of short films. We open with local work, take a quick halfway intermission for a drink and a yarn, then bring it home with a tight international lineup and a surprise or two along the way.
Initial tour stops to hit the North Island, more TBC.
